‘Banco Jajalpa’ / ‘Jajalpa stool’ is a versatile piece of furniture which can serve as a side table, footstool or regular stool. Inspired by the famous saying ‘less is more’ this stool incorporates sleek modern design and at the same time plays with the visual balance of the piece. This piece is finished with the Japanese technique of preserving wood : Shou Sugi Ban. The brilliance of this burnt finish is not only its elegant and clean aesthetic, but rather that it makes the wood weather proof (water resistant, insect resistan, sun resistant). This means, this piece serves great as outdoor furniture and requires minimal upkeep for a lower price than traditional outdoor wooden furniture such as teak.
